Gerrit Philipps, M. A., studied Political Science and Communication Studies at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster from 2015 to 2018, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts. There he worked as a tutor for the lecture "Introduction to the Political System of the FRG". Subsequently, he completed the master's program in Political Communication (Master of Arts) at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf from 2018 to 2021. Meanwhile, he worked from 2019 to 2020 as a research assistant at the Institute for German and International Party Law and Party Research in the project "Who do parties appoint as their top candidates and why?" by Dr. Gregor Zons. Parallel to his studies, Gerrit Philipps also gained practical experience at various NGOs, a political strategy consultancy and a foreign mission of the German Foreign Office. Since 2021, he has been researching and teaching as a research associate at the Chair of KMW I at the Institute of Social Sciences at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Areas of teaching and research include political communication and the medialization of politics.
