The international and interdisciplinary symposium on "Voting Advice Applications: State of the Art and Perspectives" took place on the first weekend in March 2012 in the rooms of the conference and guest house of Schloss Mickeln. Scientists from eight different European countries and various disciplines came to this conference with the aim of presenting research results and exchanging ideas about future cooperation within European VAA research. For further networking and scientific exchange, a VAA research wiki was established after the meeting, which should be expanded as a communication platform.
Financial support for the conference came from the Fritz Thyssen Foundation with a contribution from the Faculty of Philosophy at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.
